Having conducted research on music and culture of the indigenous peoples of the northern Philippines highlands. Also having been involved in research on migration between the Philippines and Japan. Currently, conducting fieldwork in a multicultural community, particularly children, in Yokohama for this project.
BA in musicology from the Tokyo University of the Arts, MM in musicology and PhD in Philippine Studies from the University of the Philippines.
Formerly a faculty member of the Asian Center, University of the Philippines (1999 – 2016).

23年間、フィリピンで北部山岳地帯の先住民の地域で音楽の調査を実施してきた。また近年は、日比間の人の移動に関する調査も行う。本プロジェクトでは、横浜市内の外国ルーツの子どもたちのコミュニティで調査を行っている。

東京芸術大学音楽学部学理科卒業。フィリピン大学にて修士号（音楽学）および博士号（フィリピン研究）取得。フィリピン大学アジアセンター准教授を経て現職。
